A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard procedures and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to return to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
